The Holy Week begins today. During the Holy Week we celebrate the mysteries of our Lord’s passion, death and resurrection, the central events of our salvation. Let us attend these celebrations with special devotion:

  • The Chrism Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday 15.4. at 6 pm in St. Henry’s cathedral.  There will be no evening Mass on Tuesday in our church.
  • On the Holy Thursday we commemorate the Last Supper of the Lord and the institution of the Eucharist and the priesthood. This is a feast of all priests. Holy Mass begins at 6 pm.  After the Mass, there will be an all-night adoration. There is a list on the information board, please put your name to indicate the time of your prayer especially during the night.
  • Good Friday – the celebration of Jesus’ passion and death. A prayer in Malayalam will begin at 10.30 am, prayer in Vietnamese at 12.30. The Way of the Cross in Finnish begins at 2 pm; the Good Friday liturgy in Finnish will be at 3 pm. Confession starts at 2 pm. The liturgy of the Good Friday in English will begin at 6 pm. Good Friday is a day of fasting and abstinence. Catholics between the ages of 18 until 60 are obliged to fast. In addition, all Catholics 14 years old and older must abstain from meat. Fasting means partaking of only one full meal and two small meals.
  • On the Holy Saturday, there will be a traditional blessing of the Easter food at 11 am, solemn Easter Vigil at 9.30 pm, and a blessing of the food after the Vigil
  • On the Holy Saturday, the youth group gathers at 16 pm in the parish hall for discussion and prayer.
  • on the Easter Sunday, bishop Raimo’s solemn Mass in Finnish will be at 10 am, Mass in Vietnamese at 11.30 am, Mass in Polish at 4 pm and Mass in English at 6 pm.

We encourage all parishioners to attend the sacrament of reconciliation before Easter. There is an opportunity for confession on Monday and Wednesday at 4.45 pm, on Thursday after the evening Mass.
We invite all couples planning to get married to a marriage course. The marriage course is a very important part of the preparation before marriage. The marriage course starts on Tuesday 22nd of April 2025 at 6.45 pm in the parish hall and consists of six meetings. The course will be held in Finnish and English.

We wish you a blessed Holy Week, peace and silence to meditate Easter’s mysteries!
