We thank parishioners who helped last Saturday cleaning in the church, building the crib and cleaning snow around the church.
It is important that every Catholic attends the sacrament of penance before Christmas
During the Advent we support those in need. Caritas Finland’s Advent Collection supports small farmers in Sri Lanka. We can donate via Caritas web page caritas.fi, directly to Caritas bank account, via Mobile pay or to the donation box in the church.
There will be a catechism class for adults in English on Thursday 21.12 after the evening Mass in the parish hall.
Charismatic prayer group will gather on Friday 22.12 after the evening Mass in the parish hall.
On the next Sunday 24.12: There will be morning Mass in Finnish at 10 am, Mass in Vietnamese at 11.30, the Christmas Eve Mass in Finnish for children in Finnish at 2 pm. All children who would like to participate as angles and shepherds in this Holy Mass please come to the parish hall at 1 pm. There will be Mass in Tagalog at 4 pm, Mass in English at 6 pm, the Christmas Eve Mass in Finnish at midnight, half an hour before midnight we will sing Carols.
On the Christmas day, Monday 25.12 there will be Mass in Finnish at 10 am, the Bishop’s Mass in Finnish at 12, Mass in Arabic at 2 pm, Mass in Polish at 4 pm and Mass in English at 6 pm. Catholics attend Mass on Sunday as well as on the Christmas day – on Monday.
The time of the celebration of the Mass in Swedish will change in January. The Mass in Swedish will be celebrated on the first Sunday of a month at 2.30 pm. We hope that the Swedish speaking parishioners will attend this Mass actively. Mass in Finnish for children will be celebrated on that Sunday at 11.30.
Two week-long pilgrimages will be organised next spring, to Poland and Bavaria. The trip will be led by our parishioner, Dr. Emil Anton, Doctor of Theology. The price of the trips is 1400-1500 Euros per person and there is a capacity of 20 people per trip. Registration is now open. More information on the notice board.
